Yoga Day 2025 -26

St.Martin’s Senior Secondary  School, celebrated  International Yoga Day, in  school premises.

The School believes that education does not mean mere imparting of knowledge or facts but it encompasses an all round development of an individual. The celebration of International Yoga Day was  enthusiastic and participation of the large number of students. The school organized a plethora of activities for students of all ages ranging from asanas, pranayam to Suryanamaskar. The students stretched their arms, bent their legs, rolled their neck and twisted every sinew in their body with greater dexterity, in a spectacular synchronicity with English and Telugu instructions. Vrikshasana, Parvatasana, Padmasana, Vajrasana were the asanas, to name a few, performed on the occasion. The main attraction of the day was the performance of Suryanamaskar in which co ordination of body and mind is very important.

School’s Yoga teacher shares, “Yoga nurtures the healthy mind in every school-going child. The role of yoga in school therefore, becomes significantly important.

The Principal, Mrs. Indira Priyadarshini , in her inaugural address opined, “Yoga, an ancient Art and Science of health and harmony have vast potential for physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual health of every human being. Yoga can play a path breaking role in the growth and development of the nation.

 The day came to conclusion with the recitation of Shantimantra and the students and teachers carrying home the message that,

“Yoga is not for only one – it’s for everyone, 

Yoga is not for a day- it’s for every day.”

Friendship Day

Friendship Day Fun in Kindergarten! Of SMSSS

Our adorable Kindergarten kids celebrated Friendship Day with boundless joy and giggles. 🌟They opened the doors of our school to friends from the neighborhood, where they played, danced, and had an absolute blast together. 💃🕺🤸‍♂️ But the fun didn’t stop there! They also whipped up a delicious and healthy snack, enjoying it as a big, happy family. 🍏🥪🍊

The highlight of the day was tieing friendship bands & special gifts for each other, spreading smiles and warmth. 🎁😊 It was a heartwarming day filled with laughter, bonding, and the joy of forming new friendships. 🤗💖🌈👭👬

Investiture ceremony

Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It’s about impact, influence and inspiration.

The Investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested student office bearers. Donning the mantle of accountability, they also pledge to bestow their duties to the best of their abilities.

The investiture ceremony is held at SMSSS annually with lots of zeal and zest. They were conferred with badges and sashes. The students’ council takes pledge to hold the school motto of Loyalty, Truth and Honour in high esteem. They are admonished to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also exhorted them to uphold the values. Children are reminded that with position comes responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers.

A ceremony of investiture is symbolic of a myriad of different important aspects of human life- growth, maturity, belief, faith, duty and sincerity, to name a few.In keeping with this,St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School,  to ensure a well-rounded education to its meritorious students, is home to a Students’ Council with a term of one academic session, each. On the 14th of July, 2025, the Students’ Council was invested duties for the academic session 2025-26. A very solemn occasion, the ceremony began with the Council members marching to the stage with their flags held high, in sync with mighty, fervent music that replicated the aura of the ceremony. Lead by the HEAD BOY & HEAD GIRL, one by one, each member marched on the stage to be badged and sashed by the DIRECTOR Sir & Principle Ma’am  In each mind was instilled a sense of pride and respect for the school.

After a sincere oath-taking ceremony, Council members from the four different houses of SMSS School marched proudly to their strongholds in the ground, and took their places with their waving flags symbolizing their aspirations for their respective houses-Members 2025.

Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated to strengthen the bond of love between brothers and sisters. It is the celebration to chaste the bond of love amongst the siblings.  Rakhi Celebration of pre-primary children was organised at St.Martin’s High School , Miyapur to establish a bond of love between them.

This rakshan bandhan celebration in preschool teaches them the importance of nature in our lives and establish a similarity between brother and sister bond and that between man and nature to make them responsible humans who take care of their environment and save Mother Nature. To Make them understand the importance of sharing and giving to each other so that they can grow up into a caring individual.

Independence Day

Freedom lies in being bold.” “Humanity has won its battle. Liberty now has a country.” “God give us peace without peace we are without freedom.

Glimpse of 79th Independence Day

Krishna Janmashtami

At St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School, Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated by the students of Pre-Primary on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Janmashtami is celebrated as a symbol of the end of darkness and rooting out of the evil forces.

 Children came dressed in ethnic wear as Radha and Krishna. The presentation depicted the varied images of life from birth to manhood transporting one to the world of splendour, colour, myth and legend.

Bathukamma and Dussehra

Beyond the vibrant decorations and performances, the celebrations served as an educational experience for St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School. Teachers & Students shared stories explaining the traditions and moral lessons behind both Bathukamma and Dussehra, instilling in students the importance of courage, honesty, and respect for nature and culture. Students dressed as nine forms of the goddess (Nava Durg) & Ram parivar ( Ram ,  lakshman , Sita & Hanuman).

The day brought together our school community, reminding everyone of the importance of unity, cultural heritage, and the eternal triumph of light over darkness. The festivities created lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for our traditions among students.
