RAINY DAY 2023 -24

The smell of the mud, the soft sound of the drips or the thunderous roar of the clouds – yes, it’s the Rainy season!”

The rain is raining all around, it falls on field and tree, it rains on the umbrellas here, And on the ships at sea. The rain is raining all around, it falls on field and tree, it rains on the umbrellas here, And on the ships at sea.

Rainy Season is an important season in India, spanning over four months. Rainfall is a significant event for various people, including farmers, industrialists, even city dwellers who wait for the rains to get some respite from the summer heat. Children, too, love the rain and enjoy various events related to it. It is interesting to know about a child’s perspective on rains.

‘Rainy Season’ or ‘Monsoon’ the beautiful season of the year is a gift of God to mankind. It revives our souls and fills the surroundings with the beauty of fresh greenery. To acknowledge this blessed gift of God, St.Martin’s kindergarten had celebrated “RAINY DAY.” On 7th July, 2023 . All learners came all armed in their raincoats & umbrellas to splash & revel in the rain. The kids performed rain dances; narrated rhymes related to rain. Our principal Mrs Indrapriyadarshini  ma’am gave information about the Lord of Rain and from where and how it rains. She also gave information about the importance of rain in our life and safety that we need to ensure during the season.Learners were also made aware of the special foods that could be enjoyed in the rainy season.

The Kinder Gajerians thoroughly enjoyed the Rainy Day with a lot of engaging activities. The entire school wore a perfect rainy and cloudy setup. The small kids holding umbrellas while some in their rain coats wearing their magical smile changed the gloomy environment into a happy one.

The most exciting and thrilling adventure of the day was the rain dance. The event was filled with fun and frolic.

GREEN COLOUR DAY CELEBRATIONS

“Green is the prime colour of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.”Everything around us is an array of colours. Green is the most common colour in the natural world, think of nature and see green in all its glory expressing renewal, life and energy. In order to emphasize the importance of green colour, St.Martin’s School had Green colour day celebration on Friday, 18 July 2023.

 All the students and teachers came dressed in different shades of green. Students were taught the identification and recognition of green vegetables, leaves, trees and various other green objects. To provide sensory experience to our little ones for exploring this colour, Leaf and Hand Printing activity was also conducted in which children took part with great enthusiasm. Celebration of green colour days provided an opportunity to the little St.Martin’s a practical learning experience and made their day more enjoyable.

Veggie Day Fiesta

“It’s a fruit and veggie week Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, all vegetables from the soil bed”. The Kindergarten section of St.Martin’s from July 31st to 5th August 2023 celebrated fruit and veggie day fiesta. This celebration is done to create and educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits and vegetables in regular diet to improve their physical health. Teachers dressed up as fruits and veggies enacted a play, the tiny tots had one vegetable in their hand and the teacher explained about the colours, names, uses, how they improve the immune system, growth and what can be eaten raw and which cannot. Teacher prepared vegetable salad live in the class. The children also participated in the riddles and identified fruits and vegetables. A vegetable rhyme was also played for the children. Both the teacher and children were excited and enjoyed the day to the fullest.

BLUE DAY CELEBRATIONS

18th AUGUST, 2023 “ Blue is the ocean; blue is the sky;

 Blue are blueberries; we put them in the pie”.

Pre-primary students celebrated ‘Blue Day’. It was a pleasant and cool blue day for the kids. All the students including teachers came dressed in blue as well as the classroom was pre-decorated to give the blue day feel. Recognition of blue colour was done.

Early identification of colours helps to create the cognitive link between visual clues and words which is an important part of a child’s holistic development. Kids enjoyed the day by making the blue whale and monsoon activities.

Yellow Day Celebration

Conducted on: 15th September 2023

Concept of Activity: “Shades of yellow stimulate our little ones with happiness, energy and optimism…….”

Positivity has a colour-it’s yellow. The motive of celebrating this yellow colour day was to make the children aware of the yellow colour, and its significance and to develop fine motor skills in the students.

The objective of the Activity: St. Martin’s celebrated Yellow Day with the tiny tots of Nursery, Jr Kg and Sr Kg. A day dedicated to the colour yellow was marked with cheerful children attired in different hues and tints of yellow outfits and sparkling with optimism, enlightenment and happiness. Children were not only beautifully dressed in their favourite yellow dresses but also brought yellow objects to make it a complete “Yellow Day”. The teachers were beaming with pride when the confident little commentators described the yellow object with flare and ease. The children enjoyed the activity and made the learning event active and sporty. The presence of Principal, Mrs. Indira priyadarshini encouraging words made the event more cheerful.

Success criteria: Decked in yellow we are mellow, and the students celebrated the yellow colour day with ecstasy, joy and happiness. The colour of wisdom and intellectual energy had a positive influence on our tender tots.

School Office Bearer’s Election

“Democracy is about voting and it’s about a majority vote. And it’s time that we started exercising the Democratic process.”

We in St. Martin’s Senior Secondary School every year, conduct elections where the School head students, deputies are chosen. Here’s how we conducted elections to select our school’s student leaders, just like the country selects its political leaders.

Teachers Election Committee was setup with four teachers under the guidance of Principal mam.

The committee announced date for the elections on 14th July 2023 and the last date for filing nomination papers to ‘Teachers Election Committee’ that will oversee the election processes.

Approved candidates created their manifesto and placards that inform their symbol and why they are the best candidates. Candidates are then allowed for canvassing to each class for votes and campaign done in assembly too.

Electoral roll and Candidates list are prepared by the Committee. The designated room for the election was arranged. Each student must first go to first Teacher with their identification card.

The students then move to next teacher who mark the student’s left forefinger with ink. In the enclosed ballot-box area, the student mark their vote on the ballot paper with a pen and push the paper into the ballot box.

The Teachers’ Election Committee counted the votes and the winning candidates are announced by the Principal mam during assembly on July 15th. Thirteen Representatives are elected as Student Council Members.

Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2023-24 was held in the St. Martin’s Senior Secondary School premises on 5th August. The school held the ceremony with great enthusiasm and compere by. Mrs. Renuka,Mrs.Nagalakshmi,Miss. Anjali and Mrs. Sultana.It was the occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted to them by the school. To inculcate the leadership qualities in students and to give them a feel of being an important and integral part of the administrative body, ‘Student Council’ is formed every year.

The Chief Guests of the program was managing director Mr. G. Jai Kishan Yadav,St.Martin’s group of Institutions and Principal Mrs. K. Indira Priyadarshini. The dignitaries are guarded by the cabinet members to the stage and welcomed with a bouquet by Mr. Ram Prasad and Mrs. Nishanthini respectively.

The ceremony begin with thanking our Almighty by Lightening the lamp and followed with the Prayer song by the choir girls and a stunning welcome dance.

The Student Council Members marched spritely and majestically in sync with the beating of the drums to receive their badges, sashes. Principal Mrs.  Indira Priyadarshini mam sworn the oath to the newly elected cabinets with a promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence. The Chief Guests congratulated the newly elected members. The Oath ceremony followed by the March Past. All the Cabinet Members, House Captains of Shakthi, Shanthi,  Pragathi, Jyothi marched majestically and payed homage to the dignitaries on dias. The dignitaries appreciated and motivated the students to uphold their responsibility in school as well as for Nation. A brief speech was given by President, Shubhrak Bijore of Grade 12, Head Boy Dev Chaudhari of Grade 10 and Head Girl Chakrika Devi of Grade 10 about their duties in school. Director sir addressed the student and encouraged them to be courageous leaders.  Principal Mam motivated children with an inspirational speech. The ceremony continued with cultural program group dance of Grade 7. The ceremony end with Vote of Thanks by Miss. Anjali.

KRISHNASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS

September 6th 2023 special day at St Martin’s senior secondary school

Krishnashtami is a festival commemorating the Birth of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnation of Lord Vishnu.

👉 To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, the students of St Martins celebrated Janmashtami with mirth and Joy.

👉 The students came dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha.

👉 The school premises decorated like Brindavan

👉 Special assembly was conducted wherein the students swayed to the

      tunes of traditional songs and dance on traditional songs.

👉 Handi is the most ancient joyful game played by the students.

👉 The day was delightful divine journey for the students

Varalakshmi Vratam, Rakhi and Onam festivals

On 24-08-23, Varalakshmi Vratam, Rakhi and Onam were celebrated in a grand manner at St. Martin’s Senior Secondary School, Miyapur.

The ceremony was presided over by Principal Mrs. K Indira Priyadarshini, It was celebrated under the auspices of First Goddess Varalakshmi was decorated very well. Various offerings were made to Amma.

The Grade 2 class girls came offered dressed as ‘Ashtalakshmula’. We invited them on stage through song. We performed Varalakshmi Puja while the 10th class student was singing a Vaishnavi song.

Students performed a beautiful dance on the occasion of Onam festival. Also, Balichakravarti and Vamanu came in disguise to inform about the festival of Onam.

The uniqueness of Rakhi is explained why Sachidevi, Lord Krishna, Draupadi and Sisupala come in disguise and celebrate Rakhi festival. The students danced beautifully to express the sisterhood of Anna.

The Grade 10 class students (girls) tied rakhi to the Grade 10 class students (boys).

Telugu Language Day Celebrations

Kaloji Narayana Rao’s birthday on 09-09-2023 has been declared as Telangana Language Day by Telangana Government. On this occasion, Telangana Language Day was celebrated at St. Martin’s Senior  Secondary School, Miyapur.

  • Grade 10 girls Vaishnavi, Hima Charita sang a song highlighting the greatness of Telugu.
  • Sethuvardhan,Grade 9 student, came dressed as a Doctor.
  • Grade 9, Harshita Gupta gave a lecture on science.
  • Grade6 students Aditya, Perses Sundar came dressed as Krishnarjuna and recited Bhagavad Gita hymns. Nannaya, Tikkana, Errana, Joshua and Molla Mogu came in the garb of poets and held a poet’s gathering.
  • Sri Kriti, Grade 6 student dressed up as ‘Telugu mother’ and brought light to the programme.
  • Grade 4 class students sang a song in Telugu letters.
  • Grade 2 class students spoke about the symbols of the state.

 Grade 6 students did a beautiful dance to a song that expresses the greatness of Telugu

Independence Day Celebrations

St. Martin’s Senior Secondary School, Miyapur, Hyderabad had celebrated Independence day on August 15th with great pomp. 

The program started at 9:00 am with guard honour by all house captains and N.C.C cadets. Then the flag was  hoisted by the Principal, Mrs. K. Indira Priyadarshini followed by National Anthem. Then all troops marched majestically and paid homage to our National flag.

Our school had conducted many events like essay writing, painting, speech, elocution, singing, clay modelling, fancy dress competition etc in accordance with Independence Day celebrations .Principal Mrs.K.Indira Priyadarshini gave away the prizes to the winners

To pay tribute to our National Leaders’ struggles and sacrifices the children have enthusiastically organised some cultural programs like skit, dances and songs.

The program vind up at 10:30 with refreshments to students & staff.

हिंदी दिवस

सेंट मार्टिन सीनियर सेकेंडरी हाई स्कूल द्वारा हिंदी दिवस का आयोजन बड़े उत्साह एवं जोश के साथ छात्र- छात्राओं व हिंदी विभाग के शिक्षक – गण प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती इंदिरा प्रियदर्शनी की उपस्थिति में धूमधाम के साथ मनाया गया |

            1918 में गांधीजी ने हिंदी साहित्य  सम्मेलन में हिंदी भाषा को राजभाषा बनाने को कहा था,काफी विचार विमर्श के बाद भारतीय संविधान के भाग 17 के अध्याय की अनुच्छेद 343(1)  में हिंदी भाषा को संघ की राष्ट्रभाषा और लिपि देवनागरी होगी, यह निर्णय 14 सितंबर को हिंदी के मूर्धन्य साहित्यकार व्यौहार राजेंद्र सिंहा के 50 वें  जन्मदिन के उपलक्ष्य में चुना गया और 1953 से पूरे भारत में 14 सितंबर को प्रति वर्ष हिंदी दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है |

स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति के बाद हिंदी को आधिकारिक भाषा के रूप में स्थापित करवाने के लिए काका कालेलकर, हजारी प्रसाद द्विवेदी ,सेठ गोविंद दास आदि साहित्यकारों को साथ लेकर व्यौहार राजेंद्र सिंह ने अथक प्रयास किए|

            इस दिन हमारे विद्यालय के छात्र- छात्राओं ने मंच को अलंकृत कर अनेक  रंगारंग कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया जैसे गीत ,नृत्य, भाषण ,दोहा- वचन ,पोस्टर- बनाना ,नारे- लेखन, भक्ति- गीत एवं छात्र -छात्राओं द्वारा ही मंच का संचालन कर कार्यक्रम की शोभा में चार चाँद लगाएं  तथा छात्र – छात्राओं के अभिभावक कार्यक्रम का हिस्सा बन छात्रों के उत्साह को सराहा, इस प्रकार  से अध्यापकों एवं छात्र-छात्राओं द्वारा हिंदी भाषा के महत्व, प्रचार – प्रसार में अपना संपूर्ण योगदान देकर हिंदी दिवस को सफल बनाया|

“Ganesh Chaturthi” on September 16th with great pomp.

The program started at 9.30 am with full of festive fervour.  It was started by regular prayer. Students and Teachers wholeheartedly welcomed Lord Ganesha (eco-friendly) on to the stage.  Lightening Lamp was done by our Principal .Mrs. K.Indira Priyadarshini and  by our Coordinators followed by Ganesh devotional song.

Detail information has been shared on Ganesh Chaturthi. Children have enthusiastically organized some Cultural programmes like skit, dance on (Ganesh stuthi- southern form of dance) and for song Jai Ganesha dance was performed by students.

The program vind up at 10.30 am by National Anthem.

Bonalu Celebrations

Bonalu is a Hindu festival in which goddess Mahakali is worshipped. This is an annual festival of Telangana which is celebrated in the month of ashada where in various forms of Hindu goddess Maha Kaali are worshipped. One of the many reasons this festival is celebrated is to ward off diseases and also to wish for happiness and prosperity.

St Martin’s senior secondary school celebrated the bonalu festival on 14th July with great enthusiasm by the teachers of Shakti house.

Our Director sir Shri G.Jaikishan Yadav and our principal ma’am shrimati Indira Priyadarshini graced the occasion as chief guests.

The celebration commenced with worshipping the goddess and performing a shobha Yatra by teachers where they carried a traditional bonam followed by the cultural programs.

Our director sir also offered his prayers to the goddess by performing a puja ritual during which our dear students of Grade 6th and 10th rendered a devotional song. Following this was a solo dance performance by a student of Grade 4. And finally the program was concluded by a spectacular group dance performance by the students of Grade 6.
