Bonalu Celebrations
Bonalu are Celebrated with colour and custom in honour of the goddess Mahankali. It’s the auspicious month of Ashadha and time for display of devotion and celebration of a lively festival. On 26th July 2024, Martin’s Staff & Students celebrated Bonalu Festival in the traditional way. This special celebration of Bonalu, the Telangana state festival was marked by a riot of colour, customs and dance. The Students were in traditional attire, carried Bonnam – new earthen pots containing rice cooked with jaggery, milk, adorned with Neem leaves, Turmeric (Haldi) and Vermilion (Kumkum) – on their heads in a procession led by two Pothrajus & drum beats. The procession started from the school Entrance. They followed traditional rituals by performing Aarti and singing hymns in the name of Goddess.
Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture ceremony is one of the first momentous occasions of the school where the newly elected and selected members of the school’s senate are officially wested with their power and positions.
Students of today are the visionaries and torch bearers of tomorrow.
The Investiture ceremony of St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School for the Academic Session 2024 – 25 was held on 12th July with great hope & dignity.
Orange’ & ‘White
Colours are the smiles of nature, and so is the colour ‘Orange’ & ‘White’.
Students of Kindergarten of St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School celebrated Orange & White Day with great zeal and zest. Our little Girls were dressed in shades of vibrant orange colour, shining bright & Boys in White colour, which associated with innocence & purity.
A dynamic and stimulating learning environment was created to help the children explore their imagination and creativity through coloring activity. The budding buds excitedly participated in colouring the orange , white and sticking it on the paper orange, Rabbit made by the class teacher. Some students spoke about the objects they brought. The lively and cheerful kindergarteners put up a great show. The activity helped reinforce the concept of the orange, white colour and created a cognitive link between visual clues and words among the tiny tots.
Children enjoyed a lot and it was indeed a pleasure to witness little ones dressed up in orange & white bubbling with energy and fascination.
Rakhi Festival
Rakhi Festival was organised in St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School,Miyapur in a very vigorously manner where kids were dressed in ethnic wear and given essential goodies and sweets as part of Raksha Bandhan activity, kids learned different ways of decorating pooja thali and also learned what all required in pooja thali, Story is told to kids to know the mythological background of Rakhi, Rakhi decoration activity, Card making for brothers and sisters.
These kind of Raksha Bandhan activities in school are truly rewarding as they not only get the job done by the kids but also make them explore creative side and learn new innovations. Our teachers are always on toes and organised the whole material in an eco-friendly manner. Didi’s and teacher tied Rakhi to each other and celebrated this auspicious occasion. It was a beautiful moment for all of us, everyone felt the spirit of Raksha Bandhan among all the students, teachers and staff of the school.
Independence Day
Independence Day, also known as स्वतंत्रता दिवस is a proud day for each Indian and on 15th August 2024, India marks its 78th year of being independent. On this special occasion, the programme started with flag hoisting by our Management, Mrs Anupama Garu and the school Principal Mrs Indira Priyadarshini Ma’am
The Felicitation ceremony was also conducted for the ChifGuest & Principal Ma’am
The gathering appealed to their nationalistic spirit and taking pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. The celebration was emphasized on the role of today’s youth who are the true wealth of a country. The day awakens everyone’s feelings towards the motherland as it is a day of joy, love and respect towards our country. We should aim to make it a better place for everyone to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

Janmashtami
Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksh or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadon. This day indicated the beginning of hope in the older times; hope, that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end.
To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at The St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School on 24th August, 2024 with mirth and joy. The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of camphor and the jingle of bells filled the air. While this religious importance is not lost, this day signifies a lot more to modern India, it signifies excitement, euphoria and a joyous spirit of enthrallment. To celebrate the extraordinary bond between children and the Almighty, The St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School took the opportunity to both jubilate and learn with the young minds. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha, complete with flutes, peacock feathers and matkas. The premise was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with Jhankis depicting life history of Lord Krishna. The celebration that followed was truly entertaining and educating.
A lot of fun-filled activities like Singing , Dancing , breaking the Utti etc. The purpose of the flamboyant celebration was to inculcate value of sharing and respect in the students.
The life history of Lord Krishna was very beautifully depicted by colourful Jhankis. The parents had a great time participating in the Event… The main attraction of the event was breaking of the treasure filled Matki…..
The Director Sir of the school, Mr blessed all the students on this auspicious day and gave them the message as always, looking ahead instead of reminiscing in the past. His words truly summed up the efficacy of celebrating festivals of devotion and obedience towards their parents and teachers.
Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam
The most fragrant and sweeter language is Telugu. It is our pride to celebrate the significance of such a beautiful language. To bring out the richness of this language and to get recognized and valued high among other languages, a lot of efforts were made by Gidugu Venkata Rama Murthy. To celebrate his birth anniversary and to pay our tribute to such a prominent personality, today at SMSSS we celebrated Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam.
To commemorate the occasion, we started with a few Shlokas, followed by the literacy script. Mesmerizing songs , speech & Dance added to the glory of the language. The students became aware that our mother tongue has a prominent role in our lives for which many eminent personalities have made contributions. The students took the responsibility to help reach the language to its pinnacles.
Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganpati Bappa Morya!!
The students of St.Martin’s Senior Secondary School , celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi on 5th September 2024, Thursday in a unique way. As a part of celebrations a special assembly was organised in the school. Grade X Students shared the importance of this festival in the society. A melodious song was sung in group praising the existence of Lord Ganesha. The students performed an obeisance dance in the most exuberant music and colourful attire. The whole atmosphere was charged with festivity. The students were explained about the significance of the festival in the mode of Skit and emphasised on eco-friendly ways of celebrating the festival. The programme concluded with positive vibes all around.
Teachers Day
To commemorate the birth of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher, 5th September every year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable.
The Teacher’s Day was organised with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of ST.Martin’s Sr. Sec. School, Miyapur.
Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Hence to express their gratitude, a wide range of activities were organised on this occasion.
Fun filled games were planned at the school ground which reminded the teachers of their school days and made them feel nostalgic. That was not all, the students planned many spectacles for the day and showcased many scintillating dance performances, on some peppy numbers which highlighted the heart warming relationship between a teacher and a student

Ms. K. Indira Priyadarshini & congratulated the teachers and acknowledged the sincere efforts of every teacher for painstaking effort they selflessly put in every day. The Principal reminded the students of the tireless labor and love all the teachers put in to bring them up as knowledgeable and compassionate individuals. It was a remarkable day for all the Martins with many unforgettable moments. She inspired that being a teacher is one of the staff by saying greatest privilege to contribute towards Nation Building.
All the teachers applauded overwhelming zeal and enthusiasm of the students for making such a glorious event to cherish forever.
